It's almost my birthday so next time you get me a present, you should either do a donation for me, or maybe get me one of those plastic bubble hair dryer things that people sit under at the hair cut place.
Too special not to share ... everyone taking care of this new baby.
Elephant herd, East Africa
This orphaned calf was sited alone by a Tour Driver on the 21st August 2013 in the Sobo area of Tsavo East National Park. The tour driver monitored the calf for a while and saw that it was staggering and in a state of collapse, with no sign of her wild family.
The Ol Kiombo males still reign in the Mara.
Within moments of its birth, this tiny calf is immediately surrounded by the protection of his family.
World Elephant Day - August 12, 2013
World Elephant Day
On 18th July, the DSWT working in partnership with the KWS, successfully located, darted and treated two injured bull elephants in the Tsavo Conservation Area. Our SkyVets programme enables us to respond rapidly to any reports of a wounded elephant, with the ability to take a KWS Field Veterinarian directly to the animal in need.
